Erfolgreiche Sturmfahrt über den Chemnitzer Schlossteich
(dg) Chemnitz – Bei recht stürmischem Pfingstwetter wurde der Chemnitzer Schlossteich am 8. und 9. Juni 2025 zur lebendigen Bühne für unser außergewöhnliches Segelevent mit der DILMUN S.
Zahlreiche Besucherinnen und Besucher – ob groß oder klein – nutzten die Gelegenheit, unser rekonstruiertes DILMUN-Schilfboot zu bestaunen, sich über frühe transozeanische Kontakte zu informieren und mit dem Expeditionsteam rund um Dr. Dominique Görlitz ins Gespräch zu kommen.
Begleitet von einer kleinen Ausstellung, Vorträgen und historischen Einblicken in die Welt der vorgeschichtlichen Seefahrt, war das Event ein voller Erfolg – und zeigte einmal mehr, wie lebendig und spannend Wissenschaft zum Anfassen sein kann.
Ein herzliches Dankeschön an alle Helfer, Partner und Besucher, die diesen besonderen Pfingstmoment auf dem Schlossteich möglich gemacht haben!

In einer kleinen Sonderausstellung konnten sich die Besucher auch über die Hintergründe der ABORA Expeditionen informieren. Mehr dazu in Braunsbedra und in Bälde auch in Stollberg/Erzg. //
In a small special exhibition, visitors could also learn about the background of the ABORA expeditions. More information can be found in Braunsbedra and soon also in Stollberg/Erzg.
Mit stolzem Segel präsentiert die DILMUN S in Chemnitz. Viele Chemnitzer hätten sich eine längere Verweildauer des Versuchsbootes gewünscht. Die DILMUN S musste für die Vorbereitung des nächsten Events jedoch wieder zurück nach Thüringen. //
The DILMUN S is presented in Chemnitz with a solid sail. Many Chemnitz residents would have liked the test boat to stay longer. However, the DILMUN S had to return to Thuringia to prepare for the next event.

Successful "Stormy Voyage" across the Chemnitz Castle Pond
Chemnitz – In rather stormy Whitsun weather, the Chemnitz Castle Pond became a lively stage for our extraordinary sailing event with the DILMUN S on June 8 and 9, 2025.
Numerous visitors – both young and old – took the opportunity to marvel at our reconstructed DILMUN reed boat, learn about early transoceanic contacts, and engage in conversation with the expedition team led by Dr. Dominique Görlitz.
Accompanied by hands-on activities, lectures, and historical insights into the world of ancient seafaring, the event was a complete success – and demonstrated once again how lively and exciting hands-on science can be.
A heartfelt thank you to all the helpers, partners, and visitors who made this special Whitsun moment on the castle pond possible!
